Dr Stephanie Kalanj-Mizzi

Psychologist, BSc, PG Dip Psych, MPsych/PhD

Stephanie is a skilled psychologist with extensive professional experience on the Gold Coast.  Stephanie has general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.  She is strongly committed to providing a safe, relaxing therapy space to enable clients to feel supported and able to make positive and lasting change in their lives.

Stephanie specialises in providing therapeutic support to individuals, couples and families. She is also an experienced group facilitator and is regularly involved in the running of positive psychology programs.

Stephanie understands that a strong client/therapist alliance is essential to successful counselling outcomes. This is achieved by ensuring clients feel valued and are treated with respect and compassion. At SKM Psychology, clients are not judged for their choices, decisions or beliefs. Stephanie uses evidence-based psychological, counselling and family therapy models to promote positive outcomes and make a genuine difference in her client's lives.

Stephanie works form a client-centred, whole of person approach.  This ensures that the unique needs of the client are fully considered and therapy is tailored to the individual person.  Interventions are drawn from an array of therapeutic models including:  Person-Centred Therapy, Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Humanistic Therapy and Behavioural Therapy.

Catherine Scott

Registered Psychologist, BSc Psych (Hon)

Catherine is our newest member of SKM Psychology.

She has a vast range of skills across several modalities which she has obtained over the past 20 years working in Youth Mental Health, Victims of Crime and parenting support. Catherine has General Registration in Psychology and is an AHPRA approved supervisor.

Catherine believes that every individual is unique and everyone has the right to be accepted, respected and supported in a non-judgemental way so they can be the best possible version of themselves, which in turn helps them to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life.

She also believes that people are the drivers of their own story so likes to practice from a strength based, collaborative approach and focuses on the client-therapist relationship to ensure a culturally safe and empathetic environment.

Catherine is skilled in a range of treatment options including utilising mindfulness and a trauma informed approach in CBT, ACT, DBT, MI, and Psychological First Aid.
